Where to go

Altromondo's hotel means an evening there can easily become a night away. In Mulhouse itself, City Zen sauna & hammam presents itself as a private libertine club with a sauna, hammam, lounge bar, cuddle corners and a BDSM room; it says it welcomes all sexualities and runs themed evenings, men-only days among them. A short drive out in Berrwiller, Espace Miscanthus calls itself an open-air libertine club and naturist sauna, with a pool, sauna, hammam and private cabins.

When to go

The weekend belongs to Altromondo: Friday and Saturday evenings from 8pm until 2 or 3am, then a Sunday session from 2pm into the early evening. Espace Miscanthus keeps daytime hours every day of the week, opening at 10am and closing in the evening. City Zen opens every day from 2pm, until 9pm most days, 11pm on Friday and 1am on Saturday. Altromondo lists entry at about €25 to €35. Hours change, so check with the venue before you set off.
